While I hunt them, there are those in the city who kill them. Here is a guy working for the city on 5th Ave. and 35th Street. The Zombies are tagged and removed. What then?

I love to go into the city, downtown has the biggest collection of Zombie Bikes, most of them are pure trash though. These were found in Alphabet City

The night ended at the F train 2nd avenue stop but, not before I saw this rusted out piece of crap and headed back to Brooklyn. Again, two locks a seat lock on a piece of crap. Hope you enjoyed my walk

Went out to dinner on Wednesday, December 24. Took a long walk from 32nd street to alphabet city. What a great set of zombie bikes.

While there are no shortages of these bikes, I seem to be running into real crap. Here is a Magna, totally stripped although the crank and pedals are still on it. These types of bikes seem to be part of a disposable bike idea. Even if it were new, it would still be crap, now a zombie, its even crappier. This bike was found in Brooklyn on 13 Ave and 44 st.

Lock worth more than bike

It amazes me. This bike a "Murray". Most bikes I see are real junk and this one is no exception but, the lock is an ABUS, a super motorcycle lock and real expensive, more than the bike is worth for sure. I love the pink fork and handle bars. Also notice the rad '80's paint scheme. Its the lock that will protect the bike, Im sure even if there was no lock, nobody would waste their time to steal it. Found on Ocean Parkway and Beverly road in Brooklyn

Although the bikes are crappy (most that become zombies are) they have started to congregate on lightposts. So ugly, so many. This collection was foind on 16 Ave. and New Utrecht Ave. in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

Saw this bike on Atlantic Ave. and Smith St. on Brooklyn. The frame says 3 speed, no brand. Pretty stripped down, only 1 tire, nice neck lock and no rust. Not too bad, can be salvaged.

I'm a Brooklyn rider but, the routes Ive taken lately have not had many Zombies. Enter: The City. There are so many Zombies here! All over the place as well as beautiful bikes- mostly fixies. Here are two nice Zombies from Alphabet City.

I cant believe how fast time went by without a post. I thought Id see tons of zombies on my bike rides, guess I was going too fast to see any. Anyway, here are two zombies together, in love- how nice. The reason why they are tasty? These bikes were found on Church Ave. and Coney Island Ave. across from NYC ICY- very tasty.

Saw this bike- a freakin CANNONDALE- Caad3! What a total waste! this bike desperately needs to be resurrected! All parts are gone. I dont know if you can tell but, all the spokes are busted out of the rear tire. The lock is a super kryptonite. The owner once cared for this beast and left it for dead. A zombie yes but this one needs to be ridden! Found in the Village on Perry and Washington.

Found this one on Livingstone Street (90) in Brooklyn. A Nishiki Frame converted into a fixie. Super lock, all the parts are there; there are no parts on a fixie. Seat looks like a lot of fun-

Freezing day- bright sunlight and a zombie warming itself. Found on 10th St. and 4th Ave. The sun was so bright, it blocks out the great zombie details. Torn cables, rusted out, what a shadow.

East 4th street and Caton Avenue. A little too close to home. Zombies everywhere! While not fully a zombie, on its way. Soon the cables will be gone, shifters will be missing, stripped of all that once made it a bike. Probably be gone within the week. I think its a nice shot. Soon bikes left out too long begin to decay on the cold. They will rust and lose parts. The cold and wet will bring the zombies.

I couldn't have picked a better Zombie for the day. Its a brand I never heard of, missing all of its parts, chain totally rusted and laying spread out behind it, locked up pretty well though. Found on Ditmas Avenue between Ocean Parkway and E. 7th street. I have a feeling its going to be a nice Zombie winter.

I took these photos a while ago. Some in Brooklyn, some in the city. They are no longer there, having been clipped and removed. Many of the bikes from the city were Specialized Hardrocks- I'm sure once used as a glorious mountain bike, no degraded to delivery and abandoned to the streets.

The Most F***ed Bike EVER!

I was shocked when I saw this bike. It is so F***ED! The rear wheel is smashed, one arm of the front suspension fork is bent and of course no cables or seat. The positive is that the lock is pretty weak so it will be gone soon. Nothing to salvage, miserable bike from Mongoose, a decent brand at higher price points. This one was all aluminum. It was so bad, I had to take two photos.

I found this miserable specimen on 54th street and 16th avenue.
